When it comes to buying a truck, you’ve probably noticed that truck owners have a lot of strong opinions. Some people refuse to buy a Dodge, while others refuse to buy anything else. Some people think Chevrolet offers the best trucks on the market, while others wouldn’t touch a Chevy truck with a 10-foot pole. However, one thing that most truck owners agree on is that Ford knows how to make solid trucks.

The Ford F-150 is hands down one of the best trucks to come out in years. Luckily, there are several different models, with various accessories and add-ons. In short, there’s a Ford F-150 to meet just about anyone’s tastes!

So, let’s take a look at exactly why the Ford F-150 is still the king of trucks:

A Lot of Accessories

If you own a Ford F-150, you know that it’s pretty easy to get aftermarket parts and accessories. This is partially due to the fact that the F-150 is so popular. You can get accessories for it at just about any auto parts store. Additionally, Ford offers a wide array of add-ons that put most other truck companies to shame. For example, the 2017 Ford Raptor light bar is one of the best light bars on the market and is great for people who want to turn their F-150 into an off-road vehicle.

Solid Structure

There’s a reason that Ford came up with the slogan “built Ford tough.” The Ford F-150 is a tough vehicle. Not only is it big, but it outperforms most other trucks in its class in crash tests. So, if you’re looking for safety, look no further than the F-150. It’s large, durable frame makes the F-150 great for people who like to take their vehicle on the path less-traveled.

Fuel Efficiency

Most people don’t associate trucks with fuel efficiency, and for good reason. Smaller vehicles and hybrids typically get the best miles per gallon, while trucks sit toward the bottom of the list. That said, the Ford F-150 is significantly more fuel-efficient than most of its competitors. You can expect to get up to 28 miles per gallon on the highway in an F-150. While it only gets about 20 to 21 miles per gallon in town, this is still higher than most other trucks of its size.

Towing Capacity

Some people buy a truck to have a safe vehicle to get from point A to point B. Others buy one because they think it looks cool or is fun to drive off-road. Still, others buy trucks for their original purpose: to haul or tow heavy objects.

Fortunately, the Ford F-150 outpaces most of the competition when it comes to towing capacity. Depending on the year and model, you can expect a Ford F-150 to haul anywhere between 4,000-8,000 pounds. This is ideal if you want to move heavy materials for construction or similar projects. In short, the Ford F-150 has a strong enough frame and engine to haul heavy objects with ease.
